I’ve been in the court reporting field for a few years now, and I’m starting to feel the need to upgrade my transcription software. I’ve used a couple of different programs, but I’m looking for something that emphasizes speed and accuracy. Any recommendations based on what’s currently out there would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve been using Dragon NaturallySpeaking, and it’s made a big difference in my speed and accuracy. The voice recognition is pretty solid, especially if you spend some time training it to recognize your voice. Just be prepared for a learning curve at first, but it’s worth it once you get the hang of it.
But have you tried Express Scribe? I found it pretty user-friendly and effective for transcription — like having a reliable sidekick that never needs coffee breaks! Plus, it integrates well with other tools. @andrews92 mentioned Dragon, which is great too, but don’t overlook trying out a few options to see what fits your style best.
Have you ever considered using Otter.ai? I found it really helpful for capturing meetings and interviews with impressive accuracy. It might take a bit of setup, but once it’s trained to your voice, it’s a game changer for speed, especially if you’re handling a lot of recordings.
