Standardizing matter templates without slowing teams

We saw a 22% drop in misfiled documents after adding required fields and a naming macro in Filevine and Relativity last quarter, but intake is still retyping parties across three systems. Has anyone moved to a single source of truth or API sync that preserves audit trails and clean privilege log exports? I’m happy to share our SOPs if it helps.

We made Filevine the source for parties and push to Relativity via Integration Points/API; the retyping stopped and the Relativity audit trail stayed intact. > a single source of truth or API sync that preserves audit trails and clean privilege — we fixed the privilege log by mapping a canonical PartyID and privilege flags from Filevine to the exact Relativity fields used by the export, plus an append-only changes table. Want me to share the field map and the webhook trigger?

Quick win: give each party a global ID in Filevine and push to Relativity with Integration Points set to ‘Overlay’ on an ‘External ID’ field so updates don’t create duplicates and the Relativity audit stays intact — like giving every system the same driver’s license. If intake is retyping into a third app, fire a Filevine webhook on party create/update and have a tiny middleware do the same upsert there, plus map privilege tags so exports stay clean. Do you need one-way sync or bi‑directional for party edits?
