Time buffers for back-to-back depos

For efficiency, I block a 20-minute buffer between back-to-back sessions and a 45-minute midday hold for overruns; it’s cut my late starts by about 60% since March. What buffer windows do you use for Zoom vs. in-person, and how do you adjust when counsel stacks 9:00, 10:30, and 1:00 in the same location?

And i keep 15 min on Zoom but 30 for in-person, and when counsel stacks 9:00/10:30/1:00 in one place I pre-confirm a “10:45 earliest” for the second slot and a 45-minute midday hold — otherwise we slide the witness order, . One concrete thing: my confirms include a bold “roll forward if not on by:10” note, which cut late starts about 50%, similar to your 20-minute buffer gains. Do you put the midday hold in the notice or just the email?

, the 9:00/10:30/1:00 stack drives me nuts — on Zoom I stick with your 20 minutes, but in person I go 40 because parking/elevators eat time, and my confirmation says, “second witness 10:50 earliest if 9:00 runs.” I also get the noticing attorney to lock a 60-minute lunch cushion in writing and flag that interpreters/exhibits will likely burn the buffer. Have you seen that 60% late-start drop more on Zoom or in person since March?

I mirror your ‘20-minute buffer’ on Zoom, but 35 in person; add ‘hard stop’ language to confirms — work for you?
